How to Wake Up Stress Free

By No Stress on April 10, 2009

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to get up in the morning on time. There are so many times that you begin your day in a rush that just adds to an already busy morning just because you have over slept. This can already make your day stressful due to not having enough time to get every thing together. If you can prepare in advance for your day, this will definitely help reduce any rush you have in the mornings.

Running late is one of the top causes of daily stress. People are in such a rush to get where ever they are going that it makes their day feel overwhelming. If you would allow for enough time to get around with out having to be in a hurry, you really eliminate that feeling of running around. It is surprising how allowing just an extra 10 minutes in the morning can do. An extra 10 minutes may allow you time to deal with a cranky child, a need to change clothes, or extra heavy traffic. Being prepared is the key to beginning your day in a stress free zone.

Plan ahead your morning, even if that means laying out clothes the night before. Make your morning as easy as possible. If you start your day off in a stressful rush of getting to work on time, then the rest of your day is going to be stressful. It is best to take the time that you need the night before to get prepared. This can be a real time saver; it may even help just in case you do over sleep anyways.

Do you ever feel yourself being overwhelmed by the daily events that take place in your life? You have to rush off to work, take care of the kids, and still find time to help others around you. There are so many things to do in one day that it just seems impossible to complete. This is how many Americans live there daily lives. They go from one day to the next with their plates so full they never have time to just unwind.

If you never take time for yourself to relax and unwind from day to day, you are going to become so stressed that you will no longer be able to enjoy anything. Rushing from one errand to the next is just not going to make your life harder, but you could really be doing damage to your body.

Stress can really add to any health complication that you might have. It is important that you take time for yourself everyday. I know that it may be harder than it sounds, but it is important. Even if you only take 10 to 15 minutes every morning to stretch and relax from the day before, you will feel a lot better.

Stretching exercises are not overly exerting, but they will get your blood flowing. This will make you feel more alert and ready for your day. Also remember, that it is okay to say “No” for things that you really do not have time for. Do not over extend yourself, or you will never have time for you.

Here in a couple of weeks, I will be getting away from my stressful life of lengthy working hours and deadlines that seem to be rolling in. I will be trading that in for lying on the beach and taking my kids to Disney World in Florida.

Hey, I understand what you might be thinking. The economy is in the tank and buying airline tickets might be out of question for you. If you are in this situation, which is likely adding just more stress to your life, you may find hope just yet. I have been watching the rates on everything plummet recently. We will be in Orlando and have found that vehicle rentals have went down by as much as 75% of what they were a couple of months ago when we started planning this trip. Plane ticket prices are significantly less expensive than they were. This is all a sign that people simply are not traveling like they were. There is not a demand to justify these kinds of prices. Therefore, they have to lower prices to put people in the seats on planes and get vehicles rented out for this busy traveling season. This may mean that you can go after all!

Even if you do not think you can afford the plane tickets, a local vacation might be great for you to relieve some stress in your day to day life. As mentioned above, a lot of people just are not doing much for spring break. These attractions (amusement parks, tourist related stores, etc.) are hurting just like every other form of business. Therefore, they are slashing prices and putting some great deals out there to encourage people to come visit. Perhaps take a break and relieve some of your stress at very little cost locally during spring break.

Symptoms of Depression Video

Depression is a complex disease that can remain hidden unless someone who knows the signs looks.  Over 15 million Americans will suffer some type of depression this year and many will not even know that they have it.  Only 1/3 of the victims ever seek medical attention.  What makes depression so hard to diagnose?  Unlike depression, the answer is easy.  Many of the symptoms we associate with depression are problems we all experience from time to time .  Therefore, it is not always easy to distinguish between what is perfectly normal and what it a sign of danger.

We all feel sad and out of sorts at different periods of our life.  For example we may become a little shaken when we reach the age of 40.  It’s seen as a big event during which people look back to determine the worth of their lives.  It may be depressing to see that passed investment opportunity when you were 20 now worth a fortune.  This does not mean that you are suffering from depression.  Depression isn’t a short term feeling.  Depression is consistent and constant and will progress if not treated.  It can take years to get this illness under control.

Changes in eating or sleep patterns are symptoms of depression.  Again, this does not mean symptoms that last the weekend but rather symptoms that are consistent over long periods of time.  Depression often sends people into themselves.  Feelings of hopelessness and helplessness aren’t unusual.  They feel upset the more lonely they become.  Sufferers want someone to help, but can’t find the courage to ask.  It becomes difficult to deal with other people.  The center of attention personality becomes a wall flower.  These are symptoms of the early stages.

When people lose the ability to function with others, depression has gone further.  Their employment and or educational activities will begin to be affected by their lack of communication and participation.  Dealing with others, even dealing with themselves becomes nearly impossible.  Life loses purpose and any light at the end of the tunnel so they begin to think about death.  To avoid this unhappy result early detection is essential.  Depression victims can find assistance.  There are effective means of treatment that will get those suffering back on the right track.  Ongoing symptoms of depression should prompt you to look for help.  Lives depend on it.

A few days of feeling sad or depressed does not mean depression.  A serious condition that can last months or even years, that’s depression.  Studies have show that around 15 million Americans are affected by this illness each and every year.  The sad fact is that only a third of those Americans will ever seek help for their affliction.  All too often people avoid recognizing or admitting that they suffer from depression because of the negative archetypes associated with mental illnesses.  Depression is a progressive illness.  It will get worse without treatment.  People should pay attention to the signs.

Many things cause depression.  It can by biological, genetic, physical and emotional.  Simple daily life and surroundings are important.  It can be caused by stress brought on by even more detrimental factors.  It takes a lot of knowledge to address a complex issue like depression.  As well, the human brain and its workings are quite complex.  The medical profession is working steadily in an attempt to study the mind and how it works.  We know that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain.  Researches learn more about this complex series of actions and reactions with passing time.  The more we learn about depression the better we can treat it.

Depression can be treated with a host of available medications.  Of course the market is full of ‘quick fix’ antidotes.  Clinical tests to prove something really works in treating depression are required.  At one time asylums and mental institutions were filled to the brim with mentally ill people.  Fortunately that has all been changed.  In 1988 the anti-depressant ‘Prozac’ first hit the market in the United States.  It has bee proven effective and is still in use today although it does come with side effects.

Since that time more and more use has been made of a new class of anti-depressants.  The SSRI or (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) like Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro, Celexa, and Luvox are all being used to treat depression today.  All have been proven effective but come with varied side effects.  Herbal medications also have a place in this market.  The ingredient in St. John’s Wort extract, heperforin, is present in those that prove every bit as effective as anti-depressant drugs.   If this ingredient is used in the proper strength it is effective.  When seeking depression medications that work ask questions, do your research, and know the facts.

Different Types Of Depression

By writer on November 10, 2008

Depression is a complicated illness. Depression is a disease that can linger and progress for months and years without detection . Researches know that depression will afflict 15 million people in the USA annually.  2/3 of these people, according to estimates, won’t seek treatment.  In many cases the afflicted do not even realize that they are ill.  Every day stress is common in the modern world. It’s more difficult to navigate the obstacles in life.  Hand to mouth survival is common.  The recent economic crises has created even more pressure to obtain and hold a job.  Depression stems from stress.

Countless types of depression exist.  Many of the labels are similar in meaning. These include medical depression, clinical depression and manic depression.  Late stages of the disease are called severe depression.  Depression is brought on by many associating factors.  One school of thought holds that it’s due to chemical imbalances, simple biology.  Depression is also passed along in the genes.  If your grandfather and father suffered bouts with depression than you may be at risk to suffer it as well.

Different types of depression are given birth by other similar factors.  Depression is often the result of substance abuse.  Alcohol or drugs both show links to depression.  Depression is more likely after a close person dies.  History hasn’t been kind to mental depression.  Before being classified as a disease it was thought to be a defect in character.  As a result treatment wasn’t applied in a way that could help the patient.  Negative effects persist through all the stages of depression.  Therefore treatment requires early detection.

When depression becomes severe depression then medical care is a must.  At this stage suicide is often the result.  The calls for assistance weren’t answered and now the chance to solve the problem is fading.   Medications and therapy combine for a working treatment.  Support groups can also help.  Natural herbs have also been found to work.  People who suffer from any type of depression have options.  If lingering signs of depression exist then please seek help.

Are You Into Depression?

By writer on October 29, 2008

Depression might not seem a big deal in its simplest form. In fact, we are all expected to get depressed occasionally. What is not expected is that we feel suicidal or immobilized by the emotion. This is never a good sign; at such times you ought to go see a doctor or talk to those that love and care for you. They will be able to help you before you do something harmful to yourself.

Social situations around you can be affected by your mood. As a matter of fact, if you are depressed enough, you might not want to be involved at all in anything. Sometimes it gets so bad that you sequester yourself away in some locked room for days and people can’t get to you. Always work on ensuring you don’t do anything that can harm you or anyone when you are depressed. Better still, work hard on forcing yourself to get out of such depressive states.

It is an unfortunate fact that people who suffer extensively from depression and its symptoms are people who refuse to accept that they suffer from it. This is what allows the condition to fester and develop into any number of other things. Don’t let this happen to you. When you notice you are always unhappy and thinking of unpleasant thoughts, then it’s depression creeping up on you. Seek help fast from loved ones or your doctor. Try to cheer up eating a delicious chocolate dessert.

Mostly, women suffer more from depression and its symptoms than men do. Due to the secretion of the estrogen hormone during ovulation, menstruation, and even with the coming of age, it’s like they just switch between moods all the time. And depression is one of those moods.

Readings from various research sources indicate that depression is more rampant in modern day than it was in the last century. For some reason, people are being more worried and sad as the days go by. This is not in the United States alone in fact; it is a thing that has been observed all over the world. But of course, anyone can do something about depression – they can choose to fight and win the war against depression, rather than allow it to win.

Some call it a “nervous breakdown,” but really it’s just depression. Alright, you might argue that there is nothing “just” about depression, and you wouldn’t be wrong. However when you appear dazed and confused, topped with the frightened look in your eyes half the time, you can’t blame the people around you for thinking things.

Depression symptoms may vary by age. Younger children who suffer depression may make complaints of physical inconveniences like stomach and headaches. They also tend to complain of irritability, while they “mope around.” It is not difficult to observe these changes in a child, and the moment you do, you should do something about it.

If you are suffering from depression, it is not unusual for you to see the early morning as the saddest time of the day. You have been in bed the whole night yet you do not feel refreshed at all in the morning. Your spouse or family might never even enjoy being around you at all because you are unreasonable in communication, snapping at them without reason, yet it is all in you. Please, don’t continue to be like this. You can stop depression if you work on it.

A depressed person might interpret a small thing as a big issue. The problem is that they might not be interested in hearing anything you have to say, and if you insist, they could take it out on you. Depression is not anything that anyone should take that lightly at all. If you are the person always suffering from depression, seek help immediately. And if you are a victim of depression, don’t get even, instead try to help the person. Yes, they do need help, I tell you. You can even give them a cocoa gift, so they can cheer up.

You will very likely have difficulty thinking when you are under the influence of depression. When it is severe, some people even complain of poor concentration, if they are able to think that far at all. The worst part is when you begin to have problems with your memory.  But the solution to depression, most of the time, is not to allow negative things to grow or even take root in your mind.

Study adopted kids and you might learn a thing or two about depression. Genetic, you will see, play a role in depression like you might not want to admit. The adopted kid does not get depressed even when the parent does, but the biological child will. What does that tell you? It tells that depression can be genetic and hereditary. But does that mean you can’t do anything about it? Of course not. You can still fight it and win!

The failure to achieve an important goal is a serious loss for some people, and cause for serious depression. It is just one of the many things that humans respond to, and it sets of a chain of events that if prolonged could weaken you such that you are virtually senseless. You must have heard of depression sufferers who turn out like that.

There is a hormone called cortisol that appears to affect people directly, causing bouts of depression. It is observed that many people, when they have higher than normal levels of hydrocortisone (cortisol), become depressed. It is some kind of adrenalin. Try to cheer up. Have a sweet celebration. It may help.

One disease that finds a way to inflict you during your early childhood days is depression. When it comes, you often don’t know, and you could have been suffering from its effects for days, months even, without having a clue.

Ever heard of postpartum depression? Yep, it’s another kind of depression; you get this type after having a baby… at least several women do. It is just one of a whole collection of syndromes and symptoms that make up the depression spectrum. You have got to find a way to identity the type you suffer from so that you can get adequate attention.
